The Guaranteed $3,000 Pick-4 wager at Batavia Downs will continue this Wednesday night starting in the third race.
The move is part of the United States Trotting Association's Strategic Wagering Program and co-sponsored with the Western New York Harness Horsemen's Association and Batavia Downs.
Batavia Downs also announced that beginning next week, the Guaranteed $3,000 Pick-4 wager will shift from Wednesday night to Saturday night for the entire month of October.
"It's no secret that after Labour Day our Wednesday business slows down, so we thought it was time to move the guarantee to Saturday," Todd Haight, general manager of live racing, said. "With the first Saturday guarantee being Kane Memorial night, we think a great night of racing just became better."
The feature on Wednesday night's program is the first race, the $8,500 Fillies and Mares Open Pace. Marty Party will open up as the 2-1 morning-line favourite and score from the six hole with Drew Monti in the sulky.
First post on the card is 6:30 p.m. and the entire card will be broadcast on Time-Warner Cable, Channel 98 in Rochester and surrounding areas.
