Big Tuesday On Tap At Rosecroft

Tuesday night’s twelve race card will feature the largest purses yet offered during the Rosecroft Renaissance and the co-features are two $6,000 “Winners Overs”.

Longtime Rosecroft favorite Four Starz Robro makes his return to Rosecroft where he has a record of nine wins, a second and a third in thirteen starts. Chris Welty will drive this one for trainer Judy Welty and owner Kelley Rodgers. Robro faces a solid field here though as the lifetime earnings total over $2.1 million for the six horse field. A Fortunes Legacy ships in from Harrah’s Philly and drew the rail for pilot Frank Milby. Go Nano Go has the two hole, also comes in from Philly and picks up the services of driver John Wagner. Robert Clark drives Baximum another from Philly and draws post three. Jabez has had good success at Philly in the claiming ranks and will have Wayne Long at the controls. Baby Blaze was the easiest of winners in this class last week and retains Corey Braden. This race goes as the fifth.

The sixth race is also a “Winners Over” and six pacers face the gate here. The one to beat is Complete Desire who simply paced over the field in last week’s Winner’s Over while putting up a 55 second back half for driver Justin Vincent. Salazar and John Wagner venture north after a couple of 1:51 and change wins at Colonial and is always dangerous with his huge closing kick. Rhapsody Rose sat the two hole last week and couldn’t match strides with the winner late but put in a solid mile for Wayne Long. Harrahs Best picks up Corey Braden and shows the fastest winning time of the season. Caviart Tyler put in a huge mile on the engine last week for Frank Milby and is conditioned by “Bib” Roberts, who raced on the Maryland circuit for many years. Precious Potato has found his best stride in the last couple weeks and picks up Frank Riviello for this one.

This card promises to be long on betting value as every race starting with the seventh, except one, will feature nine horses fields which seem to have a great deal more movement leading to a better shot for long-shots and a bigger price for favorites. The card begins at 7:25 p.m.

Horsemen are reminded that Rosecroft draws Wednesday (box open noon to three) for Saturday and Thursday (same box schedule) for Tuesday. This is a change from the previous meet. Horsemen planning to race in the MD Sire Stake races are also reminded that there is a 30 day rule for those races, not the normal 45 day rule for overnights at Rosecroft.
