If you're on Prince Edward Island and you want to earn a spot in the Trot Canada National Handicapping Championship, get to the Charlottetown Driving Park

for Little Brown Jug Day, Thursday, September 24.

Harness Racing PEI will be hosting a qualifying session for the TCNHC during CDP's live Thursday card, which follows the completion of the Little Brown Jug. The winner of the qualifier will advance to the $25,000 (est.) TCNHC, which will take place at Rideau Carlton Raceway on Sunday, November 8.

Island racetracks are getting ready to host all the action from Delaware Ohio County Fairgrounds, featuring the 2009 edition of the Little Brown Jug beginning with coverage of the Jugette on Wednesday at Summerside Raceway and Charlottetown Driving Park. The Little Brown Jug will be carried on Thursday from the track’s simulcast theatres.

Customers will be treated to Little Brown Jug food specials and opportunities to qualify in an exciting new promotion called the Mystery Keys Car Giveaway. Players who wager $10 or more in one purchase receive a ballot for weekly and bi-weekly prizes plus a chance to qualify to win a 2010 Toyota Corolla. The promotion runs until November 28.

The Pick 6 promotion has returned for the fall meet at both tracks. Customers have a chance to win $500 cash if they can correctly select the six winning horses on Races 6-11. The jackpot will jump to $1,000 during 'Red Hot' days during the promotion. The contest rotates between Summerside and Charlottetown racetrack locations.
