No Live Card Monday At Monticello

On Labour Day, Monday afternoon, September 7, there will be no live racing at Monticello Raceway

.

However the Sullivan County oval will simulcast both harness and thoroughbred races from around the country that day beginning at 12:25 p.m.

Live harness racing will resume on Tuesday, September 8 and continue with the usual four-day-a-week racing schedule of Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays throughout the remainder of the month of September.

Post times for all live race cards will be at 1:10 p.m.

Jimmy Spur To Headline Oktoberfest

Visitors to Monticello Casino & Raceway, the Hudson Valley’s premier entertainment destination, will have the chance to dance the day when Polka King Jimmy Sturr performs at Oktoberfest on Sunday, September 13 in the Grandstand.

The exciting show will begin at 1 p.m. Doors open 1 p.m. and guests are invited to bring their dancing shoes and take to the dance floor stage side. Monticello Casino & Raceway will also offer special Oktoberfest food and drink specials throughout the show. Sturr, a legendary polka music performer, is a 17-time Grammy Award winner and has put on some memorable shows at Monticello Casino & Raceway over the past few years. In June 2008, Sturr performed with legendary singer Bobby Vinton. During his career, Sturr has recorded with country favourites Charlie Daniels, The Oak Ridge Boys and Willie Nelson. Sturr performs scores of shows in New York and abroad every year, and have played top venues such as Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall and the Las Vegas strip.
