A 16-race program of live racing has been drawn for the opening day (Sunday, September 20) of the 2015 Delaware County Fair. The card includes three divisions of the Ohio Breeders Championships for two-year-old pacing fillies.
Ohio Sires Stakes champion Miss Me Yet headlines the third division of the OBC filly pace. Miss Me Yet is owned by George Teague Jr. and is trained by his sister, Brenda, and is driven by his son, Montrell. The daughter of Im Gorgeous has finished in the top three in all six of her seasonal starts and has earned more than $171,000. The Teagues also campaign the expected Jug favourite, Wiggle It Jiggleit, in Thursday’s Little Brown Jug presented by Fazoli’s.
Sunday’s second OBC division will feature a trio of competitive fillies. Big Bad Ashley (to be driven by Josh Sutton) finished third in the Ohio Sires Stakes Championship. She will start from Post 3 and will look to add to her $105,177 in career purse earnings. Queen Ann M (Chris Page), a winner of $92,325, has drawn Post 2. Angry Shelby (Greg Grismore), the fastest filly in the field, has drawn Post 1.
The first division is headed by Johns Sunny Girl, who will be driven by Greg Grismore. The daughter of Big Bad John has won half of her eight seasonal starts and has earned $74,625 for Parent Racing Stable of Holland, Ohio. Johns Sunny Girl should be challenged by Save My Tootsie (Aaron Merriman) and Naked By Nine (Ryan Stahl).
Sunday’s undercard contains the Billings Amateur Trot, Standardbred Driving Championship Pace and the Ohio Fair Racing Conference (two-year-old filly pace).
The card will kick off with a 1 p.m. first-race post time.
