Eight 3-year-old pacing colts were entered Friday, September 16 for the Ontario Sires Stakes Gold elimination scheduled to be contested on Wednesday, September 21 at Grand River Raceway
.
The OSS rules state that if there are not more horses entered in the elimination than can compete in the final, the elim will be cancelled and all horses will be considered declared directly into the final to be held the following week.
Therefore, the Gold elim for three-year-old pacing colts scheduled for September 21 at Grand River Raceway is cancelled. The $40,000 purse for the Gold elim will be added to the regular purse for the final, making a total Gold final purse for this event of $170,000.
The Gold final will be held on Wednesday, September 28 as scheduled and the post positions will be drawn on Wednesday, September 21, when the final would normally have been drawn.
According to OSS rules concerning the points for the Super Final, the 100 points from the cancelled elimination will be distributed equally between the eight horses that entered the event.
