The connections of 11 aged pacing mares have entered their charges to contest the fourth and final preliminary leg of the Erwin Andrew Memorial Series, which has been drawn and is set to take place this Sunday (September 18) at Red Shores Summerside Raceway

.

The series, which is co-sponsored by Meridian Farms, Standardbred Canada and the host raceway, is for aged pacing mares that are Canadian-sired and/or 100 per cent Canadian owned.

The 11 mares have been drawn into a pair of $3,063 divisions: a five-lass tilt which has been carded as Race 7, and a six-distaffer contest which has been programmed as Race 10.

Heading in off a gate-to-wire win in the third leg of the Erwin Andrew, the Joseph Smallwood-trained and Walter Cheverie-driven J K Special has been installed as the narrow 5-2 morning line choice from Post 4. The six-year-old daughter of Cammibest has won seven of her 20 seasonal starts and has hit the board in 13 of those dashes. Smallwood also bred and owns the mare that recently scored back-to-back wins in the preliminary rounds of the Spud Island at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

After having tasted victory in the third leg of the Erwin Andrew, the Wade Sorrie-trained and Mike Stevenson-driven Onehotvett has secured morning-line-favourite status for the second of Sunday's divisions. The Goliath Bayama mare most recently raced at Fredericton Raceway in a Junior Invitational where she cut the fractions and eventually finished third, beaten more than six lengths.
