The Delaware County Fair and the Little Brown Jug would like to remind horsepeople of a some important items when it comes to the Little Brown Jug, the Jugette and the upcoming meet of live racing at the Delaware County Fair in Ohio.
Jug and Jugette Entries: The Jugette and Little Brown Jug use a five-day box. Entries for the Jugette are due by 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 15 and entries for the 72nd edition of the Little Brown Jug presented by the Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association are due by 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 16.
Jug Race-Off: Last year, the Little Brown Jug Society voted to eliminate the third heat (race-off). The winner of the second heat will be declared the LBJ champion.
Jug and Jugette Eliminations: These events will split into eliminations with 10 or more entries. Should ten horses enter, a pair of five-horse eliminations will be held and the top eight will move on to the Jug final.
Detention Barn: All Jugette and Jug entries need to be stabled in the required barns two days prior to the event.
• Jugette Horses: Monday, September 18 at 11:00 a.m.
• Jug Horses: Tuesday, September 19 at 11:00 a.m.
Standardbred Two-Year-Old Paces: The Standardbred events for two-year-old colt and filly pacers will be held on Sunday, September 17. The deadline to enter is 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 14.
