Jamie Trenholm, of Whitecourt, Alberta, was the winner of the Pick 8 Handicapping Challenge for the National Driving Championship that took place at Red Shores’ Charlottetown on August 26.
One of two to successfully select the top three finishers, Trenholm was declared the victor in a random draw.
Although Jamie now resides in Alberta, he was raised in Nova Scotia where his family raced horses during his youth and he was able to help out with some jogging and training. Jamie’s favourite driver is Jody Jamieson and he was able to cheer Jody on to victory while he was watching the live video stream of the NDC.
With his victory in the 2014 National Driving Championship, Jamieson will go on to represent Canada in the 2015 World Driving Championship held in Australia.
This is how Jamie handicapped the NDC Pick 8:
Jody Jamieson
Marc Campbell
Brandon Campbell
Guy Gagnon
Ryan Ellis
Billy Davis Jr.
Sylvain LaCaille
Jim Marino
The official order of finish from the NDC was as follows:
