Officials with Yonkers Raceway have announced that the track is altering its live racing schedule to accommodate New York State’s pre-race protocol for both the $1 million Yonkers International Trot and the $1.8 million New York ‘Day’ of Champions.
The afternoon card of Saturday, October 14 (post time to be announced) requires the paddock be used for the state-mandated, 30-hour detention. Thus, the track’s program of racing that had been scheduled for Friday, October 13 has been cancelled.
Yonkers has added the evening of Thursday, November 2 as a make-up program. The card will feature the usual first-race post time of 7:10 p.m. The changes to the schedule have been approved by the New York State Gaming Commission.
Additional information regarding the $3.3 million Yonkers International Trot / ’Day’ of Champions program shall be released when available.
