Lucien Bombardier Set For Sunday

A field of eight starters has been drawn to contest the Standardbred Canada and Quebec Jockey Club co-sponsored Lucien Bombardier Stakes for two-year-old pacing fillies. The $35,200 clash has been carded as Race 9 on the Hippodrome 3R’s 11-dash Sunday program, which will kick off with a 1:30 p.m. first-race post time.

Post 3 starter Miss Babe Delight has been installed as the 5-2 morning line choice for driver Mario Baillargeon and trainer Dany Fontaine. The daughter of Bettors Delight has raced nine times this year and has compiled a slate of 2-3-1. The bay has tucked away $48,800 in purse earnings for Ecurie Gaetan Bono Inc. of Montreal, QC.

Miss Babe Delight took her mark of 1:58.2 over the half-mile course at Clinton Raceway during Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots action in August. She paced back to her mark this past Sunday at Hippodrome 3R.

Not to mention the rest of the field, Miss Babe Delight will have to fend off a two-horse entry from the stable of Jean Tourigny if she wants to get the job done on Sunday. HP Mercedes (HD#1, PP2, L. Roy, 3-1) and HP Sissy (HD#2, PP4, G. Gagnon, 3-1) comprise the entry.
