Lexington Selected Set To Launch

The catalogue has been mailed, it’s available for download on the Equineline app and website, and videos have been posted. It can mean only one thing: it’s ‘all systems go’ for the 2015 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale.

This year’s sale, which gets underway a day earlier than in the past, on Monday, October 5, has shaped up as one of the company’s strongest sales ever, according to co-managers David Reid and Randy Manges.

“We’ve weathered a lot of storms over the years, as far as the economy and all else, and this sale has always stood up well, regardless,” Manges said. “It’s truly the sale of champions, as we like to say. Our consignors are many of the world’s most renowned breeders, and buyers know this is where they can get a great horse at every price level.”

A new item on the sale’s agenda this year comes on Tuesday, the second night. Those in attendance will have the opportunity to bid on – via live auction – a one-of-a-kind horse sculpture to benefit the Harness Horse Youth Foundation.

The sculpture, made by a Kentucky artist/welder from nearly 1,000 pieces of re-purposed metals, will be on display at the Brittany Farms consignment prior to its sale.

The sales company also noted that successful buyers at Monday night’s opening session will receive a complimentary copy of the newly released book ‘Meadow Skipper-The Untold Story’ by authors Victoria M. Howard and Bob Marks. The book will also be on sale at several locations in Lexington during the Grand Circuit meet and sale.
