Big M Beer Fest Features Local Breweries

On Saturday, Sept. 11, the beer will flow at Meadowlands Racing and Entertainment for its Annual Beer Fest.

Nearly 60 breweries and cideries are participating and New Jersey breweries are a true festival highlight. Ghost Hawk Brewing, located in Clifton, will be pouring Sun Soak IPA and the special edition Blueberry Daedalion. Wayne’s Seven Tribesmen will pour Hop Gambit, Pines Lake Pils and Jersey Delite.

New to this year’s festival are Ashton Brewing Company based in Middlesex, and Untied Brewing Company of Providence. Ashton will serve Your Lips…Are Juicy IPA, Beach Badges and The Other One, a brut IPA, and also have Midnight Moonlight a maple barrel-aged imperial stout in the VIP session. United Brewing Company will feature a sour in the VIP tent and also bring two of their IPAs.

New Jersey Beer Company, based in North Bergen, are featuring their Chairman Of the Gourd Pumpkin Ale and Popping Bubble Wrap Double IPA. First-time festival participant Opportunity from Flemington will pour their Irish Amnesia IPA and their hazy Hunterdon Haze IPA.

902 Brewing, a four-year Meadowlands beer fest participant, will quench festival goers thirst with their pilsner, Chilltown Crusher and Ice Cream Cake, a white stout. Fan favorite Bolero Snort will be serving a selection of their renowned sours along with a few of their Broad Street Seltzers.

The Alementary Brewing Company of Hackensack will pour Hackensack Lager and Island Life Fruited Gose while Tom’s River Brewing will serve up some brewery favourites.

Other NJ produced beers include Cricket Hill’s Hopnotic, Schnick Schnack and Blond Breakfast Ale and Jersey Girl’s Elder Magic, Oktoberfest and Sun Kissed Citra. Flying Fish’s Hazy Bones and Mango Kayak and Big Man’s Brew will also be available for sampling. Angry Dad will be onsite serving their signature Amber Ale.

The Annual Beer Fest will be held in the Backyard and on the East Apron and will open to the public at 4:30 p.m. for VIP admission. General Admission begins at 5:30 p.m. and is available in advance for $45 or at the door for $50. The VIP ticket is $85 and includes an additional one hour of sampling, exclusive VIP Tent beer samplings, and food. Live harness racing will commence at 6:20 p.m.
