Pacing Fillies To Clash At Pocono

Top three-year-old pacing fillies, including the first six finishers from the Shady Daisy Pace on Hambletonian Day, will gather at The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono on Sunday (August 11) to battle.

The fillies are set to square off, as three splits will comprise the third preliminary round of the Pennsylvania Sire Stakes division. Four divisions of the group’s Stallion Series action will also head postward Sunday.

Race 6 will feature the first of the sire stakes divisions. Captaintreacherous filly Treacherous Reign will be looking to rebound from a trio of off-the-board performances. She is scheduled to start from Post 6 for trainer Tony Alagna and driver Dexter Dunn. Earlier this year, Treacherous Reign won the Fan Hanover final and a division of Pennsylvania All-Stars competition. Race 6 will also feature Sylph Hanover (PP4, Matt Kakaley), the 2018 divisional sire stakes champion. Sylph Hanover has already notched a PASS win this season.

In the second division (Race 8), Sweet Lou filly Warrawee Ubeaut, the 2018 divisional North American champion, will start from Post 3 for trainer Ron Burke and driver Yannick Gingras. She started this year with four wins – including a 1:49.2 first prelim sire stakes win – and a second. In her four starts since then, Warrawee Ubeaut has finished second once and third three times.

Race 8 will also feature Trillions Hanover (PP4, David Miller), who finished second in the Shady Daisy by a neck; Stonebridge Soul (PP2, Tim Tetrick), whose fourth in the Shady Daisy snapped a three-race winning streak that included the Lynch final and the Mistletoe Shalee; and Odds On St Lucie (PP1, Corey Callahan), a sire stakes winner from the second prelim.

The third PASS split (Race 10) will feature a showdown between the Captaintreacherous miss Tall Drink Hanover (PP6, Andrew McCarthy), who is the Shady Daisy winner and an Adioo Volo divisional winner, and Philly Hanover (PP3, Brian Sears), who is the only ‘double winner’ in the sire stakes prelims thus far this season.
