A notice to the industry was released today by the Ontario Racing Commission (ORC) regarding the process for renewing racetrack licenses for 2011

The deadline for filing applications is September 17, 2010.
To operate a racetrack facility in the Province of Ontario in any given year, a racetrack operator must file an application for licence with the Director of the Ontario Racing Commission. Under the authority granted by the Racing Commission Act, 2000, the Director will make a licensing determination and may then issue a licence to operate to the racetrack operator for the given year.
Each year the racetrack operator is required to submit, and/or ensure are on file, certain required documents. A listing of the material that must accompany the licence application can be found here.
