Batavia Downs has announced that on Wednesday (August 4) there will be a guaranteed Pick-5 pool of $5,000 that includes a $1,516 carryover.
The pool is part of the United States Trotting Association’s Strategic Wagering Program and as such, free program pages are available courtesy of Trackmaster on the USTA’s website or by clicking here. Free program pages can also be downloaded at bataviadownsgaming.com under the 'Live Racing' tab.
The Pick-5 wager begins in race one and runs through race five. It is a 50-cent base wager and if all five winners aren’t selected, any carryover pool will be moved to the Pick-5 wager on the next day of racing.
Post time for the first race Wednesday is 5 p.m.
The Pick-5 has been a very popular and profitable wager at Batavia Downs for years and the addition of the new Hi-5 and Pick-6 Jackpots this season have only made the betting menu more attractive. And, already this year, all three bets have been producing the kind of returns everyone is looking for. In the first six days of the current Batavia Downs meet, the $1 Pick-5 has returned an average payout of $1,832 with a high of $5,045, the 20-cent Hi-5 an average payout of $727 with a high of $1,026, and the 20-cent Pick-6 payout has averaged $584 and topped out at $943. The low minimum bets and high returns on those wagers shows it pays to play at Batavia Downs.
