Pedigrees for the 2016 Canadian Yearling Sale are now available online.
Prospective yearling buyers have access to some of harness racing's hottest stallions, with the majority of yearlings eligible to the strong Ontario Sires Stakes program. In addition, the current difference in value between the Canadian and U.S. dollar means added value for those buying yearlings north of the border.
"With another strong group of yearlings entered in the sale, and also because of the value of the Canadian and U.S. dollars, owners and trainers should be extremely interested in what we have to offer this year," said SC Sales Manager Heather Reid.
The sale features yearlings by perennial standouts stallions such as Kadabra, Mach Three and Sportswriter.
Beginning in 2017, owners of two- and three-year-olds that are ONTARIO SIRED or ONTARIO BRED will be eligible to earn a portion of the new $2 million Owners Bonus. This bonus will be calculated on a pro-rata basis according to their earnings in overnight races in Ontario. Owners of horses that are both ONTARIO SIRED and ONTARIO BRED will receive double the bonus.
The Canadian Yearling Sale online catalogue offers advanced search features to display only the yearlings you wish to view. Simply narrow your search criteria with the menus located directly above the sale roster and hit Submit. The resulting display can show horses by consignor, sire, gait or sex - or a combination of these options.
Set for Sunday, September 18, a total of 150 yearlings will enter the SC Sales Pavilion at Flamboro Downs. The action begins at 12:00 p.m.
