The catalogue for the Lexington Selected Yearling Sale, which begins Oct. 3, is now available.

The catalogue is available on the sales company’s website, lexingtonselected.com, and on the Equineline Sales Catalog app. Print catalogues will mail next week. Those not already on the mailing list may order one on the website.

The sale, at Lexington’s luxurious Fasig-Tipton Newtown Paddocks, will get underway at 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 3. That much-anticipated opening night will be preceded by a cocktail reception, hosted by the sales company, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The sale switches to 2 p.m. afternoon sessions from Tuesday, Oct. 4 through Thursday, Oct. 6.

The yearling sale will conclude with a 7 p.m. session on Friday, Oct. 7, after the day’s racing at the Red Mile. In the way of commerce, the week wraps up with the Lexington Selected Mixed Sale, to be held Saturday evening, Oct. 8. Entries for that sale’s main catalogue close Wednesday, Sept. 4.

David Reid, who manages the sale with Randy Manges, said that, “Top to bottom, it’s the best and deepest yearling catalogue we’ve had in a long time — maybe ever. Breeders are sending true athletes here that are beautifully prepped with outstanding conformation.”

Manges concurred: “Not only are there large numbers of the best-bred yearlings by every leading sire, there’s something for everyone. All the top stallions in all jurisdictions are represented.”

The quality of the yearlings sold at Lexington Selected is borne out by the fact that the last three winners of the $1-million Hambletonian and $1-million North America Cup have been won by sale graduates, along with a slew of Breeders Crown winners and Dan Patch champions.

As in past years, the sale will be livestreamed with online bidding offered at Proxibid.com. Online buyers are asked to register early.
