The Atlantic Standardbred Breeders Association (ASBA), Red Shores and the Prince Edward Island Harness Racing Industry Association (PEIHRIA) would like to advise horsepeople of a change to the 2025 Maritime stakes calendar.
Specifically, the adjustment concerns the Sept. 21, 2025, Atlantic Sires Stakes date at Red Shores Summerside Raceway, which affects ASBA eligible two-year-old pacing colts and fillies, as well as ASBA eligible two and three-year-old trotters.
The post time for the Sunday, Sept. 21 card at Summerside Raceway for two-year-old ASBA eligible pacing colts and fillies will be moved to 4 p.m. (ADT). The declaration date is Thursday, Sept. 18 by 10 a.m. (ADT) to the Red Shores race office.
Two and three-year-old ASBA eligible trotters will now compete on Tuesday, Sept. 23, with a post time of 6 p.m. (ADT). The declaration date is Friday, Sept. 19 by 10 a.m. (ADT) to the Red Shores race office.
These changes are necessary due to the scheduled closure of the Confederation Bridge from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 21 for the Terry Fox Run.
