Did you know that the best post position for getting a cheque in a long distance race at Xtreme Horsepower is post 18? That's just one of the pieces of information you'll learn at Saturday's Xtreme Handicapping Seminar at
Georgian Downs.
In the first four years of Xtreme Horsepower, 18 long distance races have been carded with 18 horses. In the five races where 18 horses actually started behind the gate, the 18 horse got a cheque in 80% (four) of them. With one win, post 18 also has the highest winning percentage (20%).
Join driver Anthony MacDonald, 2009 Trot Canada National Handicapping Champion Roy Sproxton and Trot Magazine Editor Darryl Kaplan for the 45-minute Xtreme Handicapping Seminar this Saturday at Georgian Downs.
The session will get underway at 4:45 p.m. and will take place on the Georgian Downs patio. Following the seminar, a total of $250 in betting vouchers will be given out to those in attendance.
During the session, the three will dissect the card and give insight into handicapping this out-of-the-ordinary program.
Want the secrets of how to cash tickets on Xtreme Horsepower Day? Seminar topics will include distance horses to watch, the overlays of the card, lessons from previous years, and the keys to handicapping heat races, the standing start and the Rewind.
