The Forest City Yearling Sale is pleased to announce that the Forest City Sale 2014 App version 2.0 is now available in the Apple App Store.
The sale company commissioned Jim Gillies of Lambeth Desktop to develop the app.
“Our main goal was to make the app simple to navigate and easy to use for the prospective yearling buyer. In version 2 we have squashed a few bugs and added some new features,” said sale manager Ann Straatman.
The app contains the complete sale catalogue of pedigree PDFs and links to all yearling videos that have been added to the Forest City Sale website. IOS 7 and an internet connection are required to download the pedigrees and automatically check for updated PDFs as well as recently added videos. With the app, users can search by Hip, Name, Sire, or Consignor. Search results can then be sorted.
Users of the app can define their own lists of horses to inspect, edit selection criteria, rate conformation, size, and video. As well, they can make notes on a yearling, give an overall star rating, highlight text and email annotated pedigrees. Currently, the app is only available for iPad users. New features for 2014 include the ability to photograph yearlings. Columns can now be sorted by tapping the column name, Hip, Name, Sex, Sire, Dam or Consignor. A pencil tool has also been added so users can write notes on pedigrees.
The Forest City Sale 2014 app is available for free at the iTunes App Store or by following the links at the forestcitysale.com website. The Forest City Yearling Sale will be held October 12 at the Western Fair District in London, Ont.
