Horsepeople are reminded to be aware of the draw schedule for Pennsylvania’s sire stakes championships and consolations and Stallion Series championships, in which over $2.3 million will be on the line over the extended

Labour Day weekend.

The Meadows will host the Three-Year-Old Sire Stakes Championships ($200,000 each) and Consolations ($50,000 each) on what has been dubbed the 'Million Dollar Sire Stakes Day' on Saturday, September 4. This card will be drawn on Tuesday, August 31.

The sire stakes two-year-olds will chase the same $1 million bounty at Chester Racetrack the next day, Sunday, September 5. Those races will be drawn on Wednesday, September 1.

Pocono Downs will host both sets of Stallion Series Championships, worth $40,000 each. The three-year-olds will race Friday, September 3, and will be drawn Tuesday, August 31. The two-year-olds will race on Tuesday, September 7 after the draw on Thursday, September 2.

Point standings to determine eligibility for the various races are available in the racing office at all tracks; from the state’s two pari-mutuel horsemen’s associations; from the website of the Standardbred Breeders Association of Pennsylvania (standardbredbreederspa.com); and by contacting the Harness Commission at [email protected] or 717-787-5539.
