New York Sire Stakes action will be in full swing during the Tuesday, August 25 program of racing at Monticello Raceway.

Once the entry box was opened, it was determined that there would be two $53,500 NYSS divisions. Dayson, who is the recent kingpin of the division, was not entered, which didn’t the break the hearts of the connections of the 13 that entered that group. There will also be two $15,000 divisions of Excelsior ‘A,’ and two $6,600 divisions of the Excelsior ‘B’ series.

Race 1, which will serve as the first leg of the NYSS action, is highlighted by Allerage Echo (Conway Hall – Echonomical). The Ken Jacobs-owned two-year-old currently has a three-race winning streak in this company. Chris Lems will be in the race bike for trainer George Ducharme and will start from Post 2. Ray Schnittker will be bringing his ever-improving Chargin Cadet (Post 3) to the contest. He has twice been a bridesmaid to Allerage Echo. Schnittker co-owns the son of Conway Hall with Ted Gewertz and Joe Faraldo.

The fifth race on the card will feature Reve Royale, who has been a model of consistency of late – he has accumulated a record of 3-1-1 from five starts. Reve Royale is the fastest and richest colt that will be racing on the day. He has $65,444 in purse earnings and sports a lifetime mark of 1:56:3, which was taken at the Meadowlands Racetrack. The RC Royalty – Dream Street colt is trained by George Ducharme for owners Campbell, Fontaine and Ross. Reve Royale will be driven by his regular driver, Chris Lems, for trainer George Ducharme.

Dan Daley will bring his ‘daily double’ of Crown Point (Post 2) and Royal Bachelor (Post 6) to the fray. Daley will steer Crown Point, while Jason Bartlett will drive Royal Bachelor.

The Excelsior ‘A’s races have been carded as Race 4 and Race 10. The Excelsior ‘B’ dashes have been carded as Race 2 and Race 3.

On September 2, Monticello will host the NY County Fair Finals and the final Racing Under Saddle dashes. A BBQ will be held in the paddock and will be hosted by Monticello Raceway, NY State Harness Breeders and the Monticello Harness Horseman Association.
