Dangle Ona Dime Looks To Score Again

Published: August 20, 2019 03:13 pm EDT

Having only missed the board twice all season, Dangle Ona Dime will look to extend his exceptional campaign in the Wednesday evening (Aug. 21) top class at Red Shores’ Summerside Raceway.

The special Wednesday evening card comes after the Prince County oval took a two-week hiatus as Old Home Week racing took place at Red Shores’ Charlottetown Driving Park. Wednesday’s card will kick off at 6:30 p.m. (the top class will line up for Race 12).

Dangle Ona Dime has been installed as the morning line favourite from Post 5 in the $2,600 top class. Ken Murphy will be calling the shots in the race bike for trainer Duane MacEachern and owner Darla MacEachern of Summerside. The four-year-old son of Pang Shui equalled his lifetime best in his latest start, as he won in 1:55.4 over Charlottetown with Corey MacPherson at the lines that day.

Catch Twenty Two, who will ship in from Truro Raceway in Nova Scotia, has drawn Post 2 for trainer-driver Darren Crowe. He currently sports a ‘not worse than third’ record since the end of June. Rookie driver Kyle Mason has amassed a .351 driving average in his inaugural season and will again steer Ultimatelyhandsome from Post 3.

The field will also feature Mando Fun (to be driven by Dale Spence), Coasttocoastshark (Devon Wallace), Pictonian Storm (John Davidson), Nogreatmischief (Walter Cheverie) and Phil Dorleans (Jason Hughes).

Face The Challenge will make his Prince County debut in Race 4 on the program, which is a maiden event that carries a $1,600 purse. Norris Rogers will drive the Ed Harvey-owned and trained pacer who made his Island debut during Old Home Week with a third-place finish. The three-year-old son of Sportswriter has yet to win a race, but paced in 1:53 and change as a two-year-old in an Ontario Sires Stakes Gold race at Woodbine Mohawk Park. The winner of $15,627 lifetime has drawn Post 4 after most recently racing at Rideau Carleton Raceway outside Ottawa before making the trek east.
