Vernon Downs will host the Crawford Farms Open Trot, Muscle Hill Open Mare Trot and Artiscape Open Mare Pace on Friday, August 21.
The draw for all three races will take place on Tuesday, August 18. The entry box will close at 9 a.m. The races are ‘stakes barn’ races (the horses due in no later than 8 p.m. the night before).
There is also a New York Sire Stakes event for two-year-old pacing fillies on the same card.
Horsepeople that plan to stay at the Vernon Downs hotel are encouraged to make those arrangements with the race office sooner rather than later. The race office may be reached at 315-829-6825.
Tioga Downs will host the Roll With Joe Open Pace on Sunday, August 23 on the same card with the Empire Breeders Classic (EBC) Finals and Reynolds Memorial Stakes for two-year-old trotters. The box for these stakes will close at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, August 19. The phone number for the Tioga race office is 607-699-7688.
The Roll With Joe and EBC Finals are stakes barn races (the horses are due in no later than 8 p.m. the night before.
