Ohio Selected Jug Sale Catalogues Available

Catalogues for the annual Ohio Selected Jug Sale are now available for download or online viewing.

The web-based PDF sale catalogue for the upcoming annual Ohio Selected Jug Sale is now available online at the Ohio Harness Horse Breeders website at ohioharnesshorsebreeders.com.

The sale is set for Friday, Sept. 13, 2024 at the Pickaway Agriculture and Event Center in Circleville, Ohio with the first horse in the ring at 10 a.m.

The annual preview Show Day will be held on Thursday, Sept. 12 with food and drink served from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

This year’s sale will feature 277 yearlings featuring 53 by Summa Cum Laude, 27 by Catch The Fire, 25 by Downbytheseaside, 25 by In Range, 23 by Ready For Moni, 22 by What The Hill, 16 by Long Tom, 11 by Lather Up, 10 by Uncle Peter, four by Volstead, and more.

“We are excited to offer another outstanding group of yearlings at this year’s select sale," said Senena Esty, president of Ohio Harness Horse Breeders Association. "It’s the event that everyone waits for in the Buckeye State, and all of the consignors are eager to showcase their colts and fillies to Ohio’s owners and trainers.”

For decades, the Ohio Select Sale has been the first stop for owners and trainers to acquire top state-bred harness racing performers.  This year will be no exception as the Ohio Select Sale has sold several million-dollar earners and world champions, hundreds of Ohio Sire Stakes winners and dozens of Super Night Champions.

Current standouts include, but are not limited to: world champion Its Academic, 1:50.1 ($2,631,834), world champion Sea Silk p,3,1:50.1h ($1,065,100), Kentucky Futurity Filly champion Katies Lucky 4,1:50 ($554,589), world champion Herculisa 3,1:52f ($684,760), Heart Of Chewbacca p,3,1:48.4f ($409,690), and world champion Elver Hanover p,2,1:48.3 ($923,397).
