Tioga Welcomes NYSS Pacers Sunday

Tioga Downs plays host to three divisions of the New York Sire Stakes (NYSS) for two-year-old pacing colts and geldings on Sunday (August 15).

Early Action (Jason Bartlett) is the 2-1 morning line favourite in $34,200 first division of the NYSS. Joe Holloway trains the gelding by Huntsville-Fashion Kate. He has a win and a second in three lifetime starts.

The second morning choice is the Gary Messenger-trained KJ Hunter (Matt Kakaley). The colt by Huntsville-Winsmith has a win, a second, and a third in five career starts.

In the $33,600 second division, Forest Blu (Tyler Buter) is the one to beat. John Butenshoen trains the gelding by Roll With Joe-Lima Fairest. He has three career victories including NYSS wins at Monticello and Saratoga.

His chief rival is the Erv Miller-trained Flip My Chip (Marcus Miller). The gelding by Heston Blue Chip-Restive Hanover has two wins in four starts including a NYSS win at Monticello.

Stablemate to Flip My Chip, Miller's Stretch The Line (Tyler Buter) should be the big favorite in the $34,200 third division. The gelding by Huntsville-Jessalilmixup has four wins so far this season including NYSS wins at Saratoga and Monticello.

The Monica Krist-trained Pickup Man Hanover (Billy Dobson) is the morning line second choice. The colt by Huntsville-Pilgrim Witchie has two lifetime victories including a NYSS win at Monticello.

The 10-race card starts at 1:00 p.m.
