Hanover Raceway has announced that it will only have one Saugeen Claiming Series this summer

The late-closing series for $8,000 claimers will only have a division for the colts this summer, as too few fillies were entered for the distaff counterpart, which has thus been cancelled.
The colts will compete in a pair of $8,000 elimination races on Wednesday, August 18 and 25. The top eight point earners will return for the $15,000 (added) final on Saturday, September 11. There will no be claiming in the final.
The list of competitors will be released once the race office is assured that no other entries are going to be received via late mail delivery. The deadline for entries was postmarked as of Saturday, August 7.
Horses must race in the first elim in order to be eligible for the final.
