A pair of Standardbred Canada co-sponsored stakes --- the opening leg of the Erwin Andrew Memorial Mares Trot and the Nova Scotia Stake --- have been drawn and are set to go postward Thursday, August 2 at Red Shores' Charlottetown Driving Park and Northside Downs, respectively.

A lone division (Race 9) has been drawn for the opening leg of the Erwin Andrew. The CDP's 12-dash program will get underway Thursday with a 7:00 p.m. first-race post time.

A total of nine mares will be contesting the Erwin Andrew opener. The Daniel MacDonald-trained and driven Napanee Seelster has received the morning-line respect. The daughter of Angus Hall has been gauged as the 5-2 early choice. The bay last raced July 26 at the CDP, where she trotted an overland mile and finished fourth, beaten less than two lengths, in 2:03.3.

The Nova Scotia Stake, which will feature a lone division of seven two-year-old pacing fillies, has been carded as Race 7 on Northside's nine-dash program. First-race post time for the card is 5:30 p.m.

Carol Alice, a daughter of Brandons Cowboy, will start from Post 6 for trainer Douglas Rankin and pilot Edgar Jacobs. The chestnut has been pegged as the 5-2 morning-line selection. Carol Alice has won two of her three career starts and has yet to finish worse than second. The filly is coming in to the dash off a second-place finish at Truro on July 24 where she paced in 2:02.2.
