Although they are just starting their careers, a pair of talented, undefeated colts are set to square off at Buffalo Raceway on Wednesday night (July 10), as a pair of $52,000 New York Sire Stakes for freshman male pacers will be the attraction.

Sandys Bolt and Groovy Joe, who are set to collide in an early-career showdown in Race 5, will both arrive with two impressive NYSS victories under their respective belts.

Sandys Bolt (Bolt The Duer-White Sand) is heading into the Wednesday tilt off of a six and a half-length victory in the NYSS at Monticello Raceway on July 1. He also recorded a three-quarter-length win at Yonkers Raceway on June 20. Sandys Bolt has been tabbed as the 2-1 morning line choice. He has drawn the four post and has Jason Bartlett scheduled to drive.

Groovy Joe (Roll With Joe-Chotat Milk) has also yet to taste defeat and is fresh off of a two-length victory in 1:56.4 at Monticello Raceway. He was also victorious in the NYSS at Yonkers Raceway on June 20 with a solid one and three-quarter-length win in 1:56.4. He's the second choice on the morning line at odds of 3-1 and is set to score from the two hole for Matt Kakaley.

Linus (Roll With Joe-Jet Wash), who was a runner-up to Sandys Bolt at Monticello in his lone career start, is not to be overlooked. Jim Morrill Jr. is set to be at his lines and the duo is scheduled to start from Post 3.

Major Asset, who is to be driven by Mike Simons, will start from the rail. He has already recorded a victory in the Excelsior ‘A’ Series along with a third-place finish in the NYSS at Monticello.

The remainder of the field will includes Shvaiko (Drew Monti) and American Rebel (Mark MacDonald).

The second division will head to post for Race 7 and all the entrants will be in search of their maiden-breaking victory. There will also be a pair of $15,000 divisions of the Excelsior ‘A’ Series on the 12-race program along with a $6,500 leg of the Excelsior ‘B’ Series. First-race post time is set for 5 p.m.
