OHHA Meeting Recap

Last night the Ontario Harness Horse Association held a general members meeting at the Delta Meadowvale Hotel in Mississauga, Ont

. The meeting was held in response to a requisition by the members. Approximately 50 people were in attendance. A short information presentation started the evening, clearly outlining the benefits of OHHA and the costs of providing services and programs for OHHA members.

Throughout the evening the majority of discussion related to the matter of access documents, their potential impact on our industry, and the recognition that stronger and more effective communication between OHHA and its members is imperative.

Darryl MacArthur, President of OHHA, stated “absolutely, there needs to be better communication between OHHA and the membership. I will give you my commitment that we will pursue not only better communication but more involvement with our membership.”

More membership meetings will be scheduled in the near future in an effort to address any concerns that the membership may have, either locally or on a provincial level.
