Registrations for standardbred mares which are going to reside in the state of Indiana for the 2012-2013 breeding season (for foals of 2013) are due August 1, 2012.

Mare owners who desire to have 2013 foals eligible as either Indiana Sired and Bred (ISB) or Indiana Bred (IB) must register their mare and have them reside in Indiana by August 1, 2012. All applications must be postmarked by August 1, 2012.

The Standardbred Breed Development Program offers three levels of eligibility in which a foal may fall under. Two of these categories, Indiana Sired and Bred(ISB) and Indiana Bred(IB), require that the mare of the foal be registered and reside in the state by August 1 prior to the year of foaling.

The following chart represents the eligibility for each category:

Please note that only mares that are going to reside in the State of Indiana and participate in the Indiana Sired & Bred or Indiana Bred portion of the program need to be registered with the Indiana Horse Racing Commission.

For more information about this program or to download a registration form, please visit www.in.gov/hrc or contact the Indiana Horse Racing Commission at 317-233-3119. You will find the registration forms on the standardbred portion of the website, under 'Indiana Mare Registration.'
