Horse Racing Alberta (HRA) has partnered with Standardbred Canada (SC) to post daily judges reports from Alberta's Standardbred racetracks on the SC website.
Launched in 2017 as a pilot project between SC and Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO), race reports from senior judges at Ontario's racetracks have been posted on the SC website daily for the past seven years. The reports from judges in Alberta were added on July 19.
"Horse Racing Alberta is committed to fostering a progressive racing industry characterized by transparency and integrity," said Theresa Sealy, HRA's acting Director of Racing. "To further these goals, we are enhancing our efforts by providing detailed information on our races through daily judges reports."
When the reports page was launched in 2017, only reports from Ontario were available. As such, the page was titled AGCO Race Reports. With the addition of Alberta to this listing, the page will now be known as the Judges' Race Reports page, available under the Racing menu.
"For decades, the Standardbred Canada website has been harness racing's homepage, providing timely and trusted news, up-to-date racing data and important information to its members and fans of Standardbred racing across the world," added Jeff Porchak, SC's Director of Digital Communications. "We look forward to working with HRA on this initiative."
Reports from judges in Alberta and Ontario will continue to be posted when made available, most often on the night of the racing card.
