The Senior Judges Group of the Atlantic Provinces Harness Racing Commission regretfully would like to inform the public that this year’s Stretch Drive Golf Tournament will not be taking place due to the unforeseen conditions in relation to COVID-19.
The tournament is the only fundraiser for the Stretch Drive Charity that acts as a benevolent fund for horse racing participants in Atlantic Canada. The tournament is supported by hundreds of Atlantic Canadian businesses, trainers, and drivers through $100 hole sponsorship for the golf tournament. With the current situation being what it is, this is not an ideal time to be asking the horse racing population and businesses for donations.
We do ask that if you are a business, driver, or trainer and still have the resources and desire to donate to the fund please contact the Atlantic Provinces Racing Commission Office or any of the judges to arrange for the donation. There is no doubt that the fund will still be needed by some members of the industry this year, and it would be great to generate some money despite the cancellation of the golf event itself.
