A multiple-horse accident took place at Red Shores Charlottetown in Thursday’s fourth race, and as a result drivers Steven Murphy and Mike McGuigan were transported to local hospital

.

Super Tuesday (driven by Steven Murphy) broke and then fell while racing on the lead in the late stages of the mile. The break caused a chain reaction of interference to trailing horses, including Diesel Seelster (Mike McGuigan) and Waterside Yankee (Neil Bambrick).

Bambrick got up on his power and walked away relatively unscathed, while Murphy and McGuigan were taken to local hospital for further evaluation. Officials from Charlottetown Red Shores also indicated the horses involved in the spill were uninjured.

Officials with Red Shores issued an update regarding the status of the drivers Friday, July 29. They stated that Bambrick, McGuigan and Murphy are all fine and will be at Summerside Raceway for the track's Friday card. To view the entries for Summerside's Friday card, click here.
