Hanover Raceway has announced that it is bringing back the Saugeen Claiming Series

.

This year’s event is for $8,000 claimers that are non-winners of $45,000 lifetime, and will feature two elimination races on Wednesday nights in August. The final will take place on Saturday, September 11.

There will be separate divisions for colt and filly pacers.

The nomination fee is $300, which will be added to the final. Eliminations will be held Wednesday, August 18 and 25, with the final for all four divisions on Saturday, September 11.

The deadline for entries is Saturday, August 7.

Last year’s event didn’t see enough filly entrants and thus the filly event was cancelled.

Hanover Raceway General Manager Gord Dougan has said that the box has been very busy this year and that he hopes both events will be held this summer.

Dougan would also like to remind horsemen that the deadline for entry is midnight on August 7, and he recommends that you send your entry by registered mail for proof of entry.

Please contact Hanover Raceway for more information.
