A pair of two-year-old trotting fillies recently-acquired by Frank Bellino and Sons Stable of Bronxville, New York, will make their way to Grand River Raceway on Wednesday for the second Ontario Sires Stakes Gold event of the season for this group.

The youngsters will compete in two of the three $70,000 divisions with the final test finding Muscle Baby Doll making her first Ontario appearance from post five with Doug McNair at the lines. This will also be her first start for trainer Tony O’Sullivan and the Bellinos, father Frank and son Joe, who purchased her following her most recent start on July 13.

Previously trained by Rick Huffman, the daughter of Muscle Mass started her career on the Indiana Fair circuit where she won her last two starts. Bred by Brittany Farms of Kentucky, the filly is the third foal from $219,000 winner Have You Ever, a former member of the Jimmy Takter stable now living in Sweden.

Muscle Baby Doll will have her work cut out for her as her division includes two of the winners from the opening Gold event for this group, Juanitas Fury in post four and Danielle Hall. Like Muscle Baby Doll, both those fillies have also won their last two starts.

While Wednesday’s outing will be Muscle Baby Doll’s first start in the Ontario Sires Stakes, her stablemate from the O’Sullivan barn and another recent Bellino acquisition, Youre Majestic, has one start in the Program to her credit, and an impressive one at that.

In the first Gold event for this group, July 14 at Mohawk, the daughter of Majestic Son cruised to a three length 1:57.4 victory with McNair in the sulky. He’ll be back behind her at Grand River where she leaves from the eight hole in the first division, race one.

Last week’s OSS victory was Youre Majestic’s first appearance for her new owners. She received her start at Northfield Park for previous trainer Ladarrius Whitaker. Sold for a mere $2,000 at the Blooded Horse Sale last fall, Youre Majestic comes into her second Gold event with a perfect two for two record and $27,650 in earnings.

Bred by Sky Ridge Acres of Ohio, the filly is the fourth foal, and first to race, from the Inquirer daughter Youre Adorable, a half-sister to $287,000 winner JC Chaser, a 12 year-old trotter still racing in Ontario.

The Bellinos, who have owned horses for many years, are best known for their pacers including the outstanding Rock N Roll Heaven, a winner of $2.7 million in his career, and the recently retired Pet Rock, who took in $1.9 million in earnings.

The other winner from this group’s Gold debut, The Grand Filly, starts in the second division on Wednesday, race four. The Tony Alagna-trained lass will be driven by Jody Jamieson from post two.
