The Standardbred Canada Industry Communications Department, which oversees TROT Magazine and the SC website, is seeking an enthusiastic student for a six-week placement with Canada’s leading horse racing publication and website.
This position, which starts on Monday, July 25, requires a hard working self-starter, with an interest in journalism, photography or communications. He/she should have a strong attention to detail. Knowledge of Canadian harness racing is preferred, but not required.
Duties may include:

Assisting or writing website editorial content.

Helping during the magazine editing and production process.

Developing story ideas for TROT Magazine and the SC website.

Working with spreadsheets and doing basic data entry.

Assisting with developing potential advertising leads.

Contacting writers, photographers and subjects as required.

Basic administrative duties.
Applicants should be returning to a post secondary program in the fall of 2016, and have reliable transportation to work at SC’s Mississauga head office.
