Lorraine Lewis Passes

Trot Insider has learned that horse owner Lorraine Lewis passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on July 16 after a sudden illness at the age of 53.

Born in Moncton, Lorraine was the daughter of Mary Coates and the late Eldon Coates. Lorraine is survived by her loving husband, Jeff Lewis; brothers, Gary (Debby), Lonnie (Sharri) and Tim (Jack Duguay); mother-in -law, Shirley; father-in-law, Carvell; sisters-in-law, Shelley (Mike) and Lisa (Robert); and brother-in-law, David (Gilles LeBlanc).

Lorraine will also be missed by her nieces, Claire and Mia; and nephews, Sean, Jeremy, Joey, Jesse, Samuel, and Jeffrey. Lorraine was a longtime employee of Shoppers Drug Mart. She was a member of Standardbred Canada, enjoyed horse racing, soft ball, bowling, singing, mentoring youth and making people laugh.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 21 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Fair Haven Funeral Home.

A service celebrating Lorraine’s life will be held on Monday, July 22 at 11:00 a.m. at Salisbury Baptist Church, 3128 Main Street, Salisbury, NB.

The family would like to thank the staff of the 4600 unit at The Moncton Hospital, Dr. Davidson and Dr. Mansfield for their care and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to The Heart and Stroke Foundation or to The Friends of The Moncton Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
