Kawartha Downs and the Township of Cavan Monaghan will be hosting a Cavan Monaghan Derby in the dining room on Saturday, July 23 to celebrate the track's 50th anniversary.
Fan are encouraged to wear their best derby hat while enjoying an exciting evening of harness racing and great food in celebration of 50 years of racing in Cavan Monaghan.
The semi-formal event will take place from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the dining room with ticket prices at $50 per person, $180 for a table of four or $240 for a table of six. Tickets include hors d'oeuvres, complimentary signature cocktail, dinner, dessert and a bird's eye view of the races. Tickets are available online or by calling Brigid at 705-932-9339.
There will be live music and prize giveaways throughout the night. First race post time is set for 6 p.m.
"Kawartha Downs & RIC (KDHR) INC. would also like to thank all of our loyal horsepeople and race fans who have supported KD over the past 50 years," Jim Huck, the track's general manager, told Trot Insider.
