Come to Meadowlands Racetrack this weekend (July 19 and 20) to have a ‘corntastic’ time.
There will be plenty of ‘Jersey-fresh’ available to eat, husk and carry, and guests will compete in contests between the races. First-race post time each night is at 7:15 p.m.
A free ear of grilled Jersey corn will be available to all guests all weekend.
On Friday night, guests can join the Corn Carrying Contest (after Race 2) and the Corn Husking Contest (after Race 4). Winners of each contest will receive a $100 betting voucher. On Saturday night, both contests will take place again, as well as the Corn Eating Contest (after Race 8) in which 10 randomly chosen participants will chow down on as much corn as they can in three minutes. The first-place winner will receive $500, followed by $250 for second place and $100 for third place. Guests can sign up at the Promotions Table for each contest and they will all take place in the Backyard/East Apron.
