Sunday's (July 18) card of racing at Dresden Raceway will feature the finale of the Ontario Women's Driving Championship, sponsored by The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation.

The first leg of the competition will take place at Hanover Raceway on Saturday (July 17), and the winner will be crowned at Dresden Raceway on Sunday afternoon.

The "Elite Eight" of the female drivers in Ontario include Natasha Day, Andrea Leon, Brttany Kennedy, Marie-Claude Auger, Maggie Jones, Julie Walker, Pam Forgie and Marielle Enberg.

"Dresden Raceway is so excited to be part of such an amazing event in partnership with Hanover Raceway," said Dresden announcer Gary Patterson." The women who are taking part are such an inspiration with their enthusiasm, skill and ability."

"It's amazing to have OLG as the title sponsor of this event as they see the importance of showing all the young girls out there that, if they follow their dreams, they could also be taking centre stage in whatever they choose to do," Patterson added.

The drivers are donating their earnings for the day to Harness The Hope in support of the fight against breast cancer.

Dresden will also feature two divisions of Ontario Prospect Series three-year-old pacing fillies on Sunday. Post time is slated for 1 p.m.
