Trot Insider has learned of an active case of equine herpesvirus in Saratoga County, N.Y., reported Friday (July 16) by the New York Racing Association and the New York State Gaming Commission.
A single unraced, unnamed Thoroughbred filly is recovering from equine herpesvirus-1 (EHV-1) after displaying neurologic signs and a fever. As a result of her positive test, Barn 86 on the Saratoga Race Course backstretch has been placed under quarantine, and horses stabled in Barn 86 will have isolated training hours until the quarantine is lifted.
