Officials with the Forest City Yearling Sale have announced that the sale date which was previously scheduled for October, has been changed.
Traditionally scheduled for the weekend after Thanksgiving, the yearling sale will now take place on November 16 and 17, 2013, following the Harrisburg sale.
"The circumstances were carefully considered and the decision was made to move the sale date to mid-November to accommodate the release of the Transition Panel's Final Report to Premier Wynne," stated sale manager Ann Straatman.
"The Panel has said that the details for a sustainable racing future will be available in October of this year, but have not committed to a specific date when the report will be released. We feel it is important for the industry to be informed of these details and for buyers to purchase yearlings with confidence.
"The sale has a very strong catalogue this year, with some exciting first-crop and proven sires as well as some new consignors. We're excited about what we have to offer and we wouldn't want anyone, breeder or buyer, to miss out on an opportunity to be a part of racing's future."
The full catalogue of pedigrees will be available early next month online.
