Kawartha Downs has announced that it will be celebrating its 40th anniversary on Saturday, July 21.
The card on July 21 will be highlighted by the 40th anniversary 'Open Pace,' which will carry a $40,000 purse; a $24,000 Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots event for two-year-old colts and geldings; an 8,000 five-eighths-mile 'Dash for Cash' for horse and gelding $5,000 claimers; and $8,000 five-eighths mile 'Dash for Cash' for filly and mare $5,000 Claimers; a $25,000 Preferred Trot, and a $10,000 one and a quarter-mile 'Keep On Trottin' event for $5,500 claimers which will be raced clockwise.
The track has also stated that there will be a lot of draws and giveaways, 'Mrs. Twist,' face painting, bouncy slide and a lot of fun.
