Woodmere Oleksiak will be looking to stretch her current win streak to three on Friday evening (July 12) at Red Shores, as she is set to mix it up in Atlantic Sires Stakes action at Summerside Raceway as part of Governor’s Plate Week racing.

Woodmere Oleksiak is the morning line choice for her $12,700 ATSS ‘A’ division (Race 11) for three-year-old pacing fillies. David Dowling will drive the daughter of Articulator from Post 2 for trainer Earl Watts and owners Hollis Newson of Cornwall, Windemere Farms of Hampshire, and Nova Scotia owners Ric McNutt of Onslow Mountain and Debbie Denney of Brooklyn. The filly was winless in 17 tries until two starts ago when she broke her maiden in a 1:58.3 romp. She then followed it up her initial win with a front-end score in ATSS action on June 30 at Inverness Raceway. Her top contenders in Friday’s contest appear to be Arc Light (to be driven by Marc Campbell) from Post 4 and Woodmere Tango (Clare MacDonald) from Post 5.

Cheeky Cherry has received top billing as the morning line choice in the other $12,700 ATSS ‘A’ division (Race 9), and trainer MacDonald will be driving for owner Earith Riley of Summerside. Other top entrants are Howmac Sabrina (Dowling) and Elm Grove Nellie (Spence).

The program will also see a trio of $2,500 ‘B’ divisions for three-year-old pacing fillies (Race 2, 4 and 7).

The Bud Ramsay Memorial Pace will line up for Race 3. The early favourite, Miss Sangria, is heading into the event fresh off of a pair of second-place finishes. Miss Sangria has drawn Post 6 for driver Adam Merner, trainer Melissa Rennie and owner Alex MacPhee of Clyde River.

Race 12 has been billed as the Medastar Memorial Pace and Nogreatmischief is the morning line favourite. Nogreatmischief will start from Post 2 for trainer/driver and co-owner Walter Cheverie of Nine Mile Creek and co-owner Brian Thompson of Charlottetown.

The 12-dash Friday program will kick off with a 6:30 p.m. first-race post time.
