The 2020 season for the Manitoba Harness Racing Circuit kicks off on Saturday (July 11) with a number of changes including some solid product upgrades.

Each of the 10 Saturday race dates will take place in Miami, Mb. with the season set to conclude in mid-September. Trevor Williams, President of the Manitoba Standardbred Racing Industry Inc., told Discover Westman that the province's participants are very excited to be back in action.

“It’s a relief to put a race season on and we’ve talked about a hundred times this spring that it’s just a privilege to race and our horsemen are proud that they’ll be able to get their product out there. Lots of people put lots of work in over the winter months getting these horses ready.”

Fans will be allowed at the Miami season opener on Saturday with a cap of 200 spectators. For those unable to attend, for the first time the races will be live streamed and available for betting on HPIbet.com.

The first card of the season features 10 races with the featured $2,450 Open Pace in the eighth. One of the entrants in the Open is former TROT Magazine cover story Marvtherat (PP3, Cory Manning, 4-1).
