‘Dad Olympics’ At Hawthorne

Hawthorne Race Course will host ‘Dad Olympics’ Father's Day weekend on Saturday, June 17 at 6:30 p.m. with harness racing beginning at 7:10 p.m.

Family friendly festivities include harness jog cart rides, music, and a trackside BBQ.

Dad Olympics features inflatable horse racing, wagon races, hula hoop contest, potato sack race, horse shoes, and more. Dads will compete to win a $150 VIP Night at the Races for a family of four and a ‘Dad Pack’ including Hawthorne merchandise. Participants can enter by visiting or calling guest services at 708-780-3700.

"Of course nothing beats the excitement of live harness racing," said Tim Carey, president and general manager of Hawthorne Race Course. "This Father's Day weekend, we want to invite the entire family out for an evening at the races and an evening of family friendly fun including 'Dad Olympics,' music, and delicious barbeque."

Racing fans are invited to Hawthorne's new outdoor space, the Party Patio, located behind the winner's circle featuring all the amenities like: outside tellers, televisions, outdoor furniture with Tiki torches, live music, and more
