The Meadows Standardbred Owners Association will host a group of professional athletes for a special event on Wednesday, July 1, as players from the Pennsylvania Rebellion will spend a day at the track.

The Rebellion is a Washington, PA-based women’s softball team that competes in the National Professional Fastpitch (NPF) league.

Players will enjoy a morning on the backstretch, getting private barn tours and jog cart rides, courtesy of the MSOA.

After a luncheon in the casino, three team members, Kristyn Sandberg, Maddie O’Brien and Dallas Escobedo, will join Meadows Live host Roger Huston for a segment on the track’s television broadcast.

Following the day’s third race, four members of the Rebellion will be selected to participate in a special match race, paired with four Meadows drivers in two-seat jog carts.

The team will break into four groups for a handicapping and wagering contest, with prizes awarded to the winners.

At the conclusion of their day at the races, the Rebellion players will prepare for a five-game road trip before returning home to CONSOL Energy Park for an eight-game homestand beginning Friday, July 10. The team’s NPF season runs through mid-August.
