Open House At Grand River

Grand River Raceway in Elora, Ont. will host a backstretch Open House on Sunday, June 7

.

Guests are invited to drop-in any time from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. A full rotation of the Open House’s six stations will require approximately one hour.

The itinerary includes the awesome opportunity to drive a racehorse. Retired standardbreds and double-seated jog carts from the Ontario Harness Racing Youth Camp will provide the horsepower.

Other topics covered in the Open House include: equine care basics; horse anatomy; blacksmiths, drivers and trainers; racing procedures, rules and regulations.

No registration is required. The event is suitable for all ages, but children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. The Open House will run rain or shine and participants are urged to wear closed-toe shoes and casual, comfortable clothing.

The Grand Open House is presented in cooperation with the Ontario Harness Horse Association and Trot 4 Kids.
